Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet Foundation

Winter has arrived and my skin is slowly adjusting to this freezing cold weather.

Last week I decided that I needed to fix up my skincare and makeup routine in order to stop my skin turning into a dry and flaky mess.

Usually I love using thick and full coverage foundations such as Double Wear, but the truth is, a lot of the full coverage foundations I try can be VERY drying. I feel like no matter what I am wearing underneath my foundation, the moisture will always be sucked out and my skin is often left feeling deflated.
Obviously I’m not writing this post to slate Double Wear in any way because it’s usually my go-to foundation, but in the winter I just need something more suited to my skin.

So this is where Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet steps in. As I was passing through House of Fraser last week, I decided to try out some of the foundations Chanel had to offer. I explained to the lovely lady at the counter that my skin had become very dry lately, but that I still wanted a full coverage foundation. She advised me to try out Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet as it has more of a velvety texture (hence the name), rather than a thick, sticky texture.

I was matched to the shade Beige 20, and after using it for a week, I can honestly say it’s one of the best foundations I have ever tried. Not only does it last all day, but it feels so lightweight on my skin and covers almost every blemish!

I couldn’t believe that I hadn’t tried this foundation before. It’s amazing how different my skin feels after using it. I finally have moisture back in my skin, even on the coldest of days. The texture of the foundation is so soft and easy to work with which I love.

If you’re looking to switch up your foundation for Christmas then I would definitely recommend this one – it’s amazing!
