Flawless Foundations

thumbnail_IMG_0354.jpg

If there’s one beauty product you need to get right, it’s definitely investing in a good foundation. Foundation is the base of your makeup look and I feel that by having a flawless foundation, it is easier to create a sleek and perfected look.

Over the years I have tried and tested so many great, and unfortunately not so great foundations. I decided to write a post of my four favourite foundations. These are all high end make up brands, but for the quality of the product I definitely think that they are worth every  penny.

Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet – 20 Beige

This foundation is very light on the skin, leaving you with a fresh, matte full coverage finish. I love to use this foundation in the summer as it allows you to have full coverage, but will still leave your skin feeling fresh and breathable.

Too Faced Born This Way – Warm Nude

This is a new favourite of mine. After reading mixed reviews of the product I was keen to try it out for myself. I was pleased to find that this foundation leaves you with a glowing full coverage complexion. I tend to apply this foundation with a beauty blender as it leaves your with an airbrushed look.

Giorgio Armarni Luminous Silk Foundation – Shade 4

I love to use this foundation when I am in need of a long lasting look. This foundation is very buildable which allows you to create a texture suited to your choice. I love how dewy this foundation leaves my skin, giving off the perfect glow suitable for both day and night.

Urban Decay All Nighter – Shade 4.0

As the name states, this foundation is great if you’re looking for something that will last all night. This product definitely provides you with full coverage. The only thing I would say is that the texture of this product is very thick, which can leave your skin feeling  heavy.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my review of these flawless foundations.
It would be great to hear which foundations you love!

Technic Cosmetics Review

Technic Cosmetics Review.

After reading many reviews of this brand, I was excited to try out the products for myself.
Technic Cosmetics has an amazing range of cosmetics at very affordable prices.  The packing of their products is very sleek and light weight, which is very appealing and helpful if you travel a lot.

After trying a few products out for myself, I was amazed at the quality of the products, especially as they were all priced under £5.

I decided to write a review of the products I tried out – I hope you enjoy!

Get Gorgeous Highlighting Powder – Pink Sparkle £3.00

I am so happy that I had the chance to try out this highlighter as it is truly beautiful. This highlighter is extremely pigmented and unlike many other budget highlighters, this one leaves a glowing finish, without looking like you have tons of glitter on your face.

I have used this highlighter in both the day and night and it is extremely long lasting. If you’re looking to try out a budget highlighter I would definitely recommend you try this one out.

Face Powder Brush – £4.75

I used this Face Powder Brush which is also from Technic Cosmetics to apply my highlighter. Not only is the colour of this brush amazing, but it’s so soft and fluffy which I adore.

Juicy Stick Lipstick – Bare Necessities £2.99

I tried the Juicy Stick Lipstick in the shade Bare Necessities. The shade has a Nude/Caramel tone which I love. This product is long lasting and doesn’t dry out your lips which is great.

Eyeshadow Primer – Shimmer £1.99

This Eyeshadow Primer has an amazing highlighting base, which can be used on it’s own or under eyeshadow. I found this product really helps to stop eyeshadow from creasing and it also allowed my eyeshadow to stay in place all night.

Mega Lash – £4.00

Mega Lash is described as a ‘mega volumising mascara’ and it does exactly that. I was surprised at how amazing it made my lashes look and it wasn’t clumpy at all. The brush on this mascara makes it really easy to ensure that every eyelash is covered and not squashed together.

Here is my finished look using the products.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my review of Technic Cosmetics and I would love to hear if you have tried out any of their products!

Lipstick Loving

BeFunky Collage.jpg

Hey guys, this month I have purchased a few lip products which I adore, so I decided to do a quick review of them.

The products I have chosen are all individually unique and beautiful.
This post features both liquid and regular lipsticks, as well as an amazing lip palette.
I hope you enjoy!

thumbnail_img_0146
Maybelline New York Vivid Matte Liquid – 50 Nude Thing.

I recently tried out the Maybelline New York Vivid Matte Liquid Lipsticks and I absolutely love them! Unlike many other matte liquid lipsticks, this product doesn’t leave your lips feeling dried out. The texture of this product is very velvety and the colour lasts longer than I was expecting, although I would recommend taking the product with you to top up throughout the day as it does transfer after eating.

The shade of this product looks dark in the above swatch, but it has a orange tone to it which works beautifully for both day and night.

thumbnail_img_0147

MAC Kabuki Magic Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour – Sweet Thing.

This range from MAC is one of my favourites at the moment. The texture itself is very matte and the product is extremely long lasting. This is my new go-to product if I know I will be spending the night out and want something that will definitely last.

The shade of this lipstick is incredible. It’s a mixture of both a dark nude and pinky tone, which suits many different looks. If you’re looking to invest in a long lasting liquid lipstick, then I would definitely recommend you give this product a go.

Maybelline New York Colour Drama Lip Contour Pallette – Blushed Bombshell.

I recently tried out this contour lip palette after hearing so many great things about it. The palette consists of a range of pink and red tones, along with a lip primer and highlighter. By using both the lip liner and lip colour, you are able to create a contoured lip look.

I decided to use the lighter shades for the above look as I was only popping to the shops, but the dark shades are also incredible. Although I don’t usually like lip palettes as they’re always harder to carry around, this palette is very small and will easily fit in my handbag.

thumbnail_img_0143

MAC Matte Velvet Teddy.

This product is an all time favourite of mine. The nude tone is perfect for any occasion and it is always a product I have to hand. I feel that MAC lipsticks last longer than other brands, so if you’re looking to try out one of their shades, I would definitely give Velvet Teddy a go.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my review on my latest lipstick favourites.
It would be great to hear what lip products you are loving at the moment!

My Favourite Body Shop Skincare Products!

I recently stocked up on my favourite skincare products and decided to share them with you guys.

I love The Body Shop, which is reflected on the fact that nearly all of my skincare products are purchased from there.

As my skin is very prone to blemishes, I tend to stick to the Tea Tree range as it works wonders for my face.  My skin also seems to dry up during winter, so I always make sure I have plenty of moisturising products at hand

Here is a quick run down of my favourite products from The Body Shop.

thumbnail_fullsizerender

The Body Shop – Tea Tree Mattifying Lotion.

This product is perfect for when your skin is looking oily, shiny and full of blemishes.  After just one just this product you can definitely see the results. It reduces pore size and leaves your skin looking fresh and ready to go.

thumbnail_img_0037

The Body Shop – Tea Tree Pore Minimiser.

This products works wonders when used with the Tea Tree Mattifying Lotion.
The Pore Minimiser does exactly what it says on the bottle and minimises any pores you have. I also use this product as a primer before applying my makeup and it really does keep everything in tact.

thumbnail_img_0031

The Body Shop – Vitamin E Moisture Cream.

This face cream is my go-to product when my skin is feeling dull and dry. I use this product both day and night, leaving my skin feeling hydrated and refreshed. The product itself isn’t too heavy on the skin which I love. It doesn’t make your skin break out either which is always a plus!

thumbnail_img_0035

The Body Shop – Tea Tree Skin Clearing Clay Mask.

If you’ve read any of my previous posts you will know how much I love this product. I make sure I use it at least once a week, as the results are incredible!
If you’re having a breakout just in time for an important event (which always seems to be the case for me), then I would definitely recommend you purchase this product.

I guarantee that you will see the results over night.
It has definitely helped me out in the past and I will continue to purchase this product until I die!

I hope you’ve enjoyed this post and it would be great to hear what other products you enjoy from The Body Shop!

Lace in Fashion -Fashion Museum Bath

befunky-collage

Last week I was lucky enough to attend a sneak preview of the Lace in Fashion exhibition at The Fashion Museum in Bath. The exhibition runs from February 4th 2017 until the January 1st 2018.

“Drawing on the riches of the Fashion Museum’s collection, as well as generous loans from contemporary fashion designers, the exhibition showcases 50 exquisite pieces, showing how lace has been used in fashion from the 1500s to the present day.”

On arrival we were welcomed with refreshments and had a chance to admire the collection whilst waiting for everyone to arrive. We were then given an amazing tour of the collections, enabling us to revisit the history behind each piece.

It was interesting to see how lace had began as a hand made art, taking hours to complete and only to be worn by the wealthiest of people. Many of the pieces we visited included collars and cuffs, carefully designed and perfected by delicate hand made lace.

It was amazing to see how far lace had come in terms of both technology and fashion. Lace can now be easily found on both the high street and catwalk, which makes it interesting to see how it has transformed throughout the years.

There are many collections to see, featuring some interesting and inspiring work.  Glamorous pieces come into play throughout the exhibition and there are some beautiful dresses which definitely caught my eye.

If you’re looking to spend the day admiring wonderful fashion, then I would definitely recommend you head to the Fashion Museum in Bath. Not only will you find this extraordinary collection, but you can venture through galleries filled with historical and contemporary fashion.

There are also several courses and classes available at the Fashion Museum if you wish to learn more about lace.
You can find a list below, along with the full schedule on their website.

 Bobbin Lace – 6th May
Weaving Lace Effect – 3rd June
Tape Lace Butterflies – 1st July
Lace Knitting – 5th August

Makeup Revolution Haul

I’ve read a lot of reviews of Makeup Revolution products and after trying a few out for myself I decided to write a post to let you know what I think of them!

thumbnail_img_3091

There are a few primers in the Makeup Revolution range, but I decided to go for the Ultra Face Base Primer. When testing out this primer it seemed to have a matte texture to it, which I love for an everyday primer.

On application this product leaves your skin feeling silky smooth and allows you to apply your foundation at ease. After a evening out my make up still seemed to be in tact which I thought was amazing seeing as the product only cost me £5.00. This primer is a good dupe for the Smash Box Photo Finish Primer.

After applying my foundation, I decided to use the Makeup Revolution Bronzer in Kiss. This is quite a matte bronzer, but it can be perfectly matched with a highlighter to give a bronzed glow. There was an offer on in store when I purchased these items which allowed me to get the Love The Revolution Palette for free!

The palette consists of several eyeshadows and highlighters. I used the bronze highlighter for my cheekbones and the lilac toned highlighter under my brow line.

This palette is really pigmented which I was extremely impressed with, especially as it was free.

I also purchased the Beyond Flawless Ultra Eyeshadow Palette. This palette consists of matte shadows, mixed with a few golden shimmer tones. Again the shadows were surprisingly pigmented and easy to blend. I decided to use the shades Flawless, Toasty and Chesnut to create my look.

I found that the shadows aren’t as long lasting as others I have tried, but at £8.00 I am still impressed with the product.

thumbnail_img_3076-1

I finished my look with Eyelure Volume Lashes in Petite 107 and Mac Lipstick in the shade Yash.

Makeup Revolution has some great products and they’re all reasonably priced. If you’re looking to try out some budget make up, I would definitely give this brand a go.

My Favourite Face Masks

befunky-collage

Every week I dedicate time to pamper myself with a face mask. I feel that it’s the perfect way to relax, whilst keeping my skin clear and hydrated.
As winter is still upon us, I decided to write a post to let you guys know which face masks I use to protect my skin from the cold weather.

thumbnail_img_3083

The Body Shop – Tea Tree Skin Clearing Clay Mask £11.00

I first tried this product a few months back and I can honestly say it’s still the best face mask I have ever used. This mask is perfect for problematic skin as it leaves your skin feeling cleansed and silky smooth.

It’s a lifesaver when you need to get rid of blemishes fast and it has saved my life many times. The product has strong Tea Tree aroma to it, which leaves your skin tingly, which I love. Unlike many other Tea Tree masks, this one doesn’t leave your skin feeling dried out as it leaves a natural glow to your skin and soothes any redness you may have.

thumbnail_img_2919

Timeless Truth – Herbal Rejuvenation Immortelle Mask £4.90 per mask

This sheet mask is perfect for anybody having problems with dry or aging skin. The mask itself does look very weird when it’s applied, but I guarantee it works wonders.

After just one use, the mask softens your skin and leaves it feeling naturally moisturised. This mask is perfect for a pamper night or if you just need to refresh your skin after being out in the cold.

thumbnail_img_3065

Garnier – Skin Active Moisture Bomb Tissue Mask £1.99

This tissue mask has been advertised a lot lately and I feel that it is a cheap and easy way to bring your skin back to life. For £1.99 you can’t go wrong.

The tissue mask does also look very strange when applied, but when it’s removed you instantly feel hydrated. It leaves your skin feeling fresh and ready to go. The mask states that it leaves your skin feeling moisturised for a week, in my opinion the moisture definitely lasts a few days, but I would still continue to hydrate my skin with creams etc. throughout the week.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my review and I would love to hear which face masks you love!
