Barry M – In the Glow Body Oil Review

thumbnail_IMG_2483

After returning from my summer holidays, I am devastated to see that my tan has started to fade away. Although it has not left me completely pale, I have been looking for a product which keeps the little bit of tan I have left looking healthy and natural.

Whilst browsing several reviews I saw great recommends on bronzing oils. I’m sure most of you have heard of Estee Lauder and The Body Shop bronzing oils, which seemed to be the most popular and reviewed oils.

As these oils can be quite pricey, I decided to look for a cheaper alternative. After searching my local Boots for a budget version, I came across In The Glow by Barry M. At £7.99 this product is less than half of the price of many other well know oils so I jumped at the chance to try it.

My main worry when trying out this oil was that I would end up orange, or that it would transfer on to my clothes straight away. But after applying the product and leaving it to dry for a good 5-10 minutes, it didn’t budge at all. I was also impressed with the fact that it didn’t give off a horrible scent, which is always a bonus.

I was confident enough to wear a white top after using this product and it did not smudge on to my clothing at all. The oil dries perfectly and gives you an extra glow without covering you in glitter.

If you’re looking to try out a cheap bronzing oil then I definitely recommend you give this one a go!

Chanel Ombre Première Eyeshadows

thumbnail_IMG_2130

I recently visited the Chanel counter in Boots and was lucky enough to try out the new Ombre Premiere Eyeshadow Collection. The collection features two new textures, cream and powder, both with a long lasting effect. There are 24 shades in the collection, with multiple finishes, including matte, metalic and satiny.

When I arrived at the counter, the regional makeup artist for Chanel greeted me and introduced me to the new range. She then began matching up the colours best suited to my skin tone and eye colour. As I have greeny/blue eyes, she was looking to match me with a colour that would make my eye colour pop and brighten my eyes.

We decided to use both textures using a layering effect in order to create a soft smoky eye. The shades she picked were Sable 28 and Desert Rouge 36 in the powder range, along with Pourpre Profond 810 and Scintillance 804 in the cream range.

I was amazed at how pigmented the shadows were and I love the way the cream and powder eyeshadows blended perfectly.

The look was completed with the Le Gel Sourcils Eyebrow Gel in Transparent 350 and the Imitable Intense Mascara in Noir 10.

I am in love with the new range and I was so impressed with my finished look. The product did not budge all day, so I was happy to invest in this amazing range.

It didn’t take long to apply these products and I would feel comfortable in this look in both the day and night.

The shades are incredible and I would definitely recommend you try out these products.

Mystic HD Spray Tan – The Tanning Shop Bath

BeFunky Collage

Last week I was lucky enough to try out the Mystic HD Spray Tan at The Tanning Shop in Bath. I love using fake tan before a big event or night out, but the process of applying it and waiting for it to dry is always a pain. I recently heard about Mystic HD Tanning and couldn’t wait to try it out.

Unlike many generic spray tans, Mystic HD Tanning is an automated booth which allows you to obtain an even and natural looking tan. I love the idea of having a private booth and being able to use the product at a time best suited to you. The tanning only takes three minutes which is perfect if you’re pushed for time.

thumbnail_IMG_0621

I visited The Tanning Shop in Bath in order to get my tan. The Tanning Shop is so clean and the staff there are incredibly welcoming. Being able to pop in to the shop on the day of an event made the process very easy and stress free for me.

Before stepping in to the booth I was advised on which shade would best suit my skin tone. I decided to go with the Luminous Light tone mixed with a Mocha Kyssed Bronzer and an Accelerator. The Bronzer ensured that I would have a bronze tan, rather than having a dreaded orange glow, which can be the downfall of many other spray tans. The Accelerator helped my tan develop in time for my event later in the evening and also helped to hydrate my skin.

Before stepping in to the booth I was also advised to apply the Barrier Cream to areas which were more drying. I applied the cream to my hands, knees, elbows and feet. As I didn’t want to ruin my nails, I also applied a thick layer to them in order to keep my light pink polish in tack.

After applying the Barrier Cream and hair net, I stepped in the booth ready for my tan. There is an automatic voice which advises you how to position yourself in the booth which is very handy. I couldn’t believe how fast the process was and the fans helped my tan to completely dry before I left the salon.

I washed the excess tan off after four and a half hours and I was amazed with the results. The tan looked so natural and there were no streaks or patchy areas at all. The Barrier Cream really helped to create an even looking tan. I was also amazed to find that there was no fake tan odour with this tan, which I dread when trying out a new tanning product.

I used the Mystic HD Tanning Booth last week and my tan is still looking amazing. I was really worried about becoming patchy as it wears off, but this hasn’t happened at all.

If you’re looking for the perfect bronzed glow, then I would definitely recommend you try this out. I will definitely be going back to The Tanning Shop in Bath next time I need my tan topped up.

Technic Cosmetics Review

Technic Cosmetics Review.

After reading many reviews of this brand, I was excited to try out the products for myself.
Technic Cosmetics has an amazing range of cosmetics at very affordable prices.  The packing of their products is very sleek and light weight, which is very appealing and helpful if you travel a lot.

After trying a few products out for myself, I was amazed at the quality of the products, especially as they were all priced under £5.

I decided to write a review of the products I tried out – I hope you enjoy!

Get Gorgeous Highlighting Powder – Pink Sparkle £3.00

I am so happy that I had the chance to try out this highlighter as it is truly beautiful. This highlighter is extremely pigmented and unlike many other budget highlighters, this one leaves a glowing finish, without looking like you have tons of glitter on your face.

I have used this highlighter in both the day and night and it is extremely long lasting. If you’re looking to try out a budget highlighter I would definitely recommend you try this one out.

Face Powder Brush – £4.75

I used this Face Powder Brush which is also from Technic Cosmetics to apply my highlighter. Not only is the colour of this brush amazing, but it’s so soft and fluffy which I adore.

Juicy Stick Lipstick – Bare Necessities £2.99

I tried the Juicy Stick Lipstick in the shade Bare Necessities. The shade has a Nude/Caramel tone which I love. This product is long lasting and doesn’t dry out your lips which is great.

Eyeshadow Primer – Shimmer £1.99

This Eyeshadow Primer has an amazing highlighting base, which can be used on it’s own or under eyeshadow. I found this product really helps to stop eyeshadow from creasing and it also allowed my eyeshadow to stay in place all night.

Mega Lash – £4.00

Mega Lash is described as a ‘mega volumising mascara’ and it does exactly that. I was surprised at how amazing it made my lashes look and it wasn’t clumpy at all. The brush on this mascara makes it really easy to ensure that every eyelash is covered and not squashed together.

Here is my finished look using the products.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my review of Technic Cosmetics and I would love to hear if you have tried out any of their products!

Lace in Fashion -Fashion Museum Bath

befunky-collage

Last week I was lucky enough to attend a sneak preview of the Lace in Fashion exhibition at The Fashion Museum in Bath. The exhibition runs from February 4th 2017 until the January 1st 2018.

“Drawing on the riches of the Fashion Museum’s collection, as well as generous loans from contemporary fashion designers, the exhibition showcases 50 exquisite pieces, showing how lace has been used in fashion from the 1500s to the present day.”

On arrival we were welcomed with refreshments and had a chance to admire the collection whilst waiting for everyone to arrive. We were then given an amazing tour of the collections, enabling us to revisit the history behind each piece.

It was interesting to see how lace had began as a hand made art, taking hours to complete and only to be worn by the wealthiest of people. Many of the pieces we visited included collars and cuffs, carefully designed and perfected by delicate hand made lace.

It was amazing to see how far lace had come in terms of both technology and fashion. Lace can now be easily found on both the high street and catwalk, which makes it interesting to see how it has transformed throughout the years.

There are many collections to see, featuring some interesting and inspiring work.  Glamorous pieces come into play throughout the exhibition and there are some beautiful dresses which definitely caught my eye.

If you’re looking to spend the day admiring wonderful fashion, then I would definitely recommend you head to the Fashion Museum in Bath. Not only will you find this extraordinary collection, but you can venture through galleries filled with historical and contemporary fashion.

Makeup Revolution Haul

I’ve read a lot of reviews of Makeup Revolution products and after trying a few out for myself I decided to write a post to let you know what I think of them!

thumbnail_img_3091

There are a few primers in the Makeup Revolution range, but I decided to go for the Ultra Face Base Primer. When testing out this primer it seemed to have a matte texture to it, which I love for an everyday primer.

On application this product leaves your skin feeling silky smooth and allows you to apply your foundation at ease. After a evening out my make up still seemed to be in tact which I thought was amazing seeing as the product only cost me £5.00. This primer is a good dupe for the Smash Box Photo Finish Primer.

After applying my foundation, I decided to use the Makeup Revolution Bronzer in Kiss. This is quite a matte bronzer, but it can be perfectly matched with a highlighter to give a bronzed glow. There was an offer on in store when I purchased these items which allowed me to get the Love The Revolution Palette for free!

The palette consists of several eyeshadows and highlighters. I used the bronze highlighter for my cheekbones and the lilac toned highlighter under my brow line.

This palette is really pigmented which I was extremely impressed with, especially as it was free.

I also purchased the Beyond Flawless Ultra Eyeshadow Palette. This palette consists of matte shadows, mixed with a few golden shimmer tones. Again the shadows were surprisingly pigmented and easy to blend. I decided to use the shades Flawless, Toasty and Chesnut to create my look.

I found that the shadows aren’t as long lasting as others I have tried, but at £8.00 I am still impressed with the product.

thumbnail_img_3076-1

I finished my look with Eyelure Volume Lashes in Petite 107 and Mac Lipstick in the shade Yash.

Makeup Revolution has some great products and they’re all reasonably priced. If you’re looking to try out some budget make up, I would definitely give this brand a go.
